Nepal Project

The Nepal Project

The Nepal project began when a team member of ours went home for the winter break. After realizing that there was a need for eLibrary in Nepal and reaching out to potential organizations to work with, he returned to pitch the idea to the team. Following careful research, assessments and fine-tuning, our team made the decision to implement our eLibrary drives along with computers in various parts of Nepal to provide educational support for children there.

Tailoring Our Project

Our Nepal project began with the intention to bridge educational gaps in the country. We identified thorugh various assesments and research that certain parts of the country lacked adequate educational support for their students.

One of the core aspects of our approach towards this project is student-centered learning. The eLibrary drives allow students to have a self-directed approach to education, where they can choose the content that interests them, learn at their own pace, and revisit topics they may not understand. This empowers students to take ownership of their learning journey and fosters a love for learning.

We are honored to have the opportunity to contribute to the educational landscape in Nepal and empower students with the tools they need to thrive. Our eLibrary drives are not just a source of educational content, but also a symbol empowerment for these students, giving them the opportunity to unlock their full potential and create a brighter future.

“The local Government has been trying to promote education but with a limited budget. La Sierra Enactus has been able to bring the newest technology into our classrooms that will ensure that students are able to learn at higher standards”

Our Local Partners

At La Sierra University Enactus, we believe that forming local partnerships are instrumental towards the success of our projects. For our Nepal Field Station, we have collaborated with three local organizations – Hoste Hainse, RUDEC Nepal, and Samata Education Trust; all of which are working towards improving educational support and infrastrtucture to local students.

Our partnership with these organizations has been instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation and continuous support of our project. These organizations are actively involved in the local communities and have a deep understanding of the unique challenges and needs the students have. They have helped us identify schools and communities that lack reliable infrastructure and internet access, and have worked closely with us to distribute the eLibrary drives and computers to the students who need them the most.

In addition to distribution, our partners will also play a crucial role in providing monthly feedback regarding how our eLibrary drives have been utilized and the impact they have made on students’ learning experiences. This feedback loop allows us to continuously improve our initiative and ensure that it remains relevant and effective in addressing the educational gaps in Nepal.

Our Impact

Through our partnerships with local organizations, we were able to conduct needs assessments to identify 52 schools with over 16,000 students that would benefit from our eLibrary drives. Our team identified that some of these schools lacked working computers that were available for all students to use. To solve this gap, we provided 100 computers along with 600 eLibary drives to support the school’s educational system and children’s learning. These numbers reflect the significant reach of our eLibrary drives and the positive change they look to bring  to the lives of thousands of students in Nepal.

We believe that addressing the specific needs of schools is crucial to creating a sustainable and impactful education initiative, and we remain committed to meeting the needs of communities around the world.
